Boy Scouts take part in Shelby observance

The Boy Scouts took part in the recent Memorial Day observance in Shelby.

The event featured a flag-raising by the Boy Scouts, the playing of the Star-Spangled Banner by the Shelby Whippet Band, the reading of the names of veterans who passed away in the last two years, special readings by Nicholas Beekman of Buckeye Boys State and Raegan Gurney of Buckeye Girls State and the singing of “God Bless America” by Shelby’s Lynn Cross and the Melloettes, and more. (This marked the 50th year that Cross had performed the song at the event).
