A 70 year old resident of Huron County has become the first COVID-19 related death, according to Huron County Public Health. Bill Knapp, who also suffered from underlying health conditions, died on Sunday, March 29 due to complications of novel coronavirus.
“I am saddened to say that I knew this individual personally,” noted Huron County Public Health Commissioner Tim Hollinger. “This loss touches all of Huron County Public Health greatly. Bill Knapp served on the Huron County Board of Health for 20 years and was a committed and dedicated member of our community, as well as a part of the Huron County Public Health family.”
Hollinger said Knapp was currently serving as the president of the Huron County Board of Health.
