Fire and EMS for the City of Willard have received the COVID-19 vaccine. City manager James Pomerich said 16 people were vaccinated.
“The next wave of vaccines should include the police department,” he told members of Willard City Council. “Seven employees within the police department have requested the vaccine. We are waiting to hear when they should expect to receive it.”
At this point, there is only one member of the fire department out with COVID. Pomerich noted there are four members of the police department who were out with the coronavirus, but three people have returned to duty.
In the maintenance department, Pomerich said there is one employee out with COVID and one employee out due to exposure. In the city manager’s office, one member was out due to exposure but has returned to work.
At this time, Huron County is in the Red level noting very high exposure. The county currently meets three of the seven indicators.
The mask mandate set down by the Ohio Department of Health and Governor Mike DeWine remains in effect.
