Smoke from wild fires across the western U.S. is covering much of the lower 48, the National Weather Service said. This photo was taken July 19 in the Mansfield area.

Haze seen in the region today is from wildfire smoke in the West.

"The smoke will not affect air quality across our area since it's so high up in the atmosphere," the National Weather Service in Cleveland said in a tweet. "This will likely stick around for the next few days."
