House fire

A look at the scene of the fire along East Main Street on Saturday night in the Shelby community. Mutual aid was provided to the Shelby Fire Department. A cause of the fire was not immediately known on Sunday.

SHELBY -- The Shelby Fire Department, assisted by other fire departments in the area, responded on Saturday night to a blaze at a home along East Main Street.

No injuries were reported in the fire that was reported about 10:51 p.m., according to preliminary information from the Shelby Fire Department.

The cause of the fire is not immediately known.

The home, the fire department said on Sunday, is at 97 E. Main St., which is east of Mansfield Avenue.

Mutual aid was provided to the Shelby Fire Department. Those assisting included the Shiloh Volunteer Fire Department and the Springfield Fire Department/Ontario, according to the preliminary information from Shelby Fire.

In addition, Madison Township provided EMS mutual aid assistance in town while Shelby crews responded to the scene of the East Main Street house fire, according to that initial information. It was not immediately known how badly the home was damaged.

No firefighters were injured.
