Church meals

A look at the meal distribution outside First Presbyterian Church of Shelby.

As the nation's coronavirus crisis unfolds, First Presbyterian Church of Shelby served 94 free sack meals on Thursday where those meals were served curbside.

"We are planning to do this every Thursday as long as we are allowed," Pastor James Robinson said in a written message to the Shelby Daily Globe. "There is obviously a need for this."

Motorists were asked to stay in their vehicles during the drive-through distribution that began at 4 p.m. Thursday.
