Shelby reported a new coronavirus case on June 23.

A Shelby resident who works at an out-of-town facility has tested positive for COVID-19, Mayor Steve Schag reported Tuesday.

The individual is home quarantined and being monitored by the Shelby City Health Department, Schag said via email.

To date, this is the 17th positive case that has been reported by the Shelby department, Schag said.

The previous 16 cases have attained recovered/resolved status, he said 

Shelby's first coronavirus case was reported March 31.
