The American Heart Association focus is on improving cardiac arrest survival through life-saving skills, education and training. The NFL and the American Heart Association have teamed up to provide free CPR education following the lifesaving medical attention Damar Hamlin received.
The Shelby Health Department would like to extend that education and training through providing free Heartsaver CPR classes to the residents of Shelby.
The Heartsaver CPR classes are 1-2 hour classes that provide you with the skills and confidence to respond to a cardiac arrest. The vast majority of cardiac arrests happen at home, in public places, and workplaces. This class will provide you with the skills and confidence to give CPR, and to use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in a safe, timely, and effective manor.
If you would like to learn this Life Saving Skill, call the Shelby Health Department at 419-342-5226 and sign up for one of their classes. Class size is limited: March 27th 6:30-8:30pm, April 24th 6:30-8:30pm, May 15th 6:30-8:30pm, and June 20th 6:30-8:30pm.
