SHELBY -- R.S. Hanline & Company Inc., one of the largest fresh produce distributors in the eastern United States, is showing support for the Shelby community and its economy by increasing their minimum wage to $15 per hour effective immediately, the company announced in a news release.
“Our business continues to grow rapidly due to our excellent company reputation, work ethic of current employees and increased customer demand,” R.S. Hanline & Company Inc. Human Resources Director Zackary Miller said in the April 27 news release.
“That growth has also prompted a need for labor, so we’re grateful and proud to be able to provide opportunities in the community that will enable the local economy and our employees to thrive," he said.
The new $15 minimum wage will benefit more than 150 employees, the company reported.
In addition to the raise, full-time employees will continue to receive R.S. Hanline’s industry-leading benefits, the release stated.
“We are giving back to our employees and to Shelby,” Miller said.
R.S. Hanline & Company Inc. has several positions available for immediate hire, the release stated.
