Recently, a non-profit organization has been started in Willard, who’s purpose is to educate and raise awareness on the dangers of Fentanyl.
The organization, called “Turn up for Trizzy Inc.” works in honor of Trevor “Trizzy” Reiderman.
Trevor, says the family, was a “free-spirited” person with a “heart of gold,” who was given a lethal dose of Fentanyl in July of last year.
The intent of the non profit is to educate “individuals about the dangers of Fentanyl and” advocate “for increased awareness and resources to combat this crisis.” In addition to the education, they seek to help individuals and families who have suffered the effects of addiction and overdose.
Currently, they are looking to host their first annual Golf Scramble and are seeking donations to help cover the cost of the event, which includes green fees, cart rentals and future fundraising opportunities. They are also gratefully accepting donations in the way of food and drinks, as well as any gift or raffle donations. The golf outing will be held at Woody Ridge Golf Course in Shelby, located at 6362, State Route 598, on July 1 with a shotgun start at 9 am. The cost is $60, and includes 18 holes, carts, a meal at turn and a meal following the event. There will be games and prizes as well. Teams are to consist of four people.
To sign up, contact Morgan Reiderman at 419-357-2177 or Merin Reiderman at 419-366-9990.
In the future, Turn up for Trizzy would like to establish local scholarship opportunities for students, as well.
