Shelby played host to Marion Pleasant on Sept. 17.

The Shelby Whippets football team won big against Marion Pleasant on Friday night at Skiles Field in Shelby.

The final was 49-14.

Shelby wide receiver Blaine Bowman collected 10 passes during a 303-yard, four-touchdown performance in the 49-14 thumping of Marion Pleasant Friday evening at W.W. Skiles Field at William J. Wilkins Stadium.
The record-breaking night included a Marshall Shepherd to Bowman connection on a 97-yard catch-and-run for a touchdown with 10:28 remaining.
The catch was the longest in school history

Shelby's season record is now 4-1 while comes Pleasant stands at 1-4.

Shelby improved to 2-0 in the Mid Ohio Athletic Conference.

Friday evening marked the Whippets return home at Skiles Field after two straight weeks on the road.
