Football: Shelby playoff match-up set

When the football postseason kicks off Friday evening, Shelby will be facing an opponent they are really quite familiar with.

For the second time in as many weeks, the Whippets will be facing Clear Fork.

Their upcoming meeting will be in a Division IV, Region 14 playoff contest at W.W. Skiles Field at William J. Wilkins Stadium. Last Friday the Mid Ohio Athletic Conference opponents squared off on the home turf of the red and gray to complete the regular season.

SHS won that meeting by a 49-19 count to wrap up an undisputed MOAC championship.

“Playing Clear Fork at our place back-to-back weeks is definitely a unique challenge,” said coach Rob Mahaney, who has guided the Whippets to an 8-2 ledger this fall. The Colts enter the fray with a record of 6-4.
