Shelby's Kayla Gonzales wins MOAC cross country race

Kayla Gonzales keyed the Shelby High School girls team as she won the Mid Ohio Athletic Conference race for the second straight year, posting a clocking of 18:58 on Saturday.

“Kayla ran lights out for a second MOAC title. We had eight runners with PR’S today,” said girls coach Steve Clark, who admitted to being on cloud nine. “So proud…love these gals.”

The Lady Whippets captured their first title in over than a decade. They won back-to-back championships in 2009 and 2010 in the now-defunct Northern Ohio League.
