Record breaker

Shelby's Owen Fisher darts into the endzone with his first of four touchdowns on the night. The senior rushed for 283 yards and in the process became the program's all-time leading ground gainer.

Shelby's Owen Fisher became the school's all-time rushing leader with a 283-yard, four-touchdown performance during Saturday night's 49-26 playoff victory against Oberlin Firelands.

Fisher moved his career total to 4,387 yards and eclipsed the former standard of 4,339 yards held by Devon 'Shorty' Brooks.

The senior running back scored on runs of 81, 1, 11 and 62 yards. His one-yarder in the opening period put the Whippets ahead to stay at 14-7.

Marek Albert had a pick-six for the SHS defense. Teammate Andre Hill picked off a pair of passes and Fisher also had an interception.

Next Saturday the Whippets will host Clyde in a rematch of last year's regional semifinals. The Fliers bested Huron 28-21.
